New doll

I have re-visited the idea of using felt to mould a doll face with this doll - in the dim distant past I did this quite a lot, but haven't for some time, mainly because good quality wool felt is very hard to source. I like the soft, tactile quality the felt gives to a doll. Her body is calico (muslin) stained to match the colour of the felt. I had the dress - it just happened to fit very well, and the shoes are ones I bought ages ago & had hanging around. Slightly outsized, but she likes them! I made her wig from curly black lambskin.

  1. Oh my gosh, the cuteness factor is overwhelming here. You know me and the FACTOR. Where is all that influx of cash when I NEED it.

  4. she is a beauty. If you want good wool felt there is a shop in Nairne that sells it by the meter. I can get some and send it to you if you like.

  9. I'm glad you pointed out the different techniques you used in your dolls hair. The painted is very realistic and the glue/thread is also.

I have never seen or even touched a felt fabric doll. I'll bet it is a real delight. (from your previous post) Your dolls are ever changing and wonderful.
