HI Susie Just love your dolls. I was wondering how you attach the chest plate to the cloth bodies. I have looked at your tutorials but can't find anything specific. Any help greatly appreciated.
Hi Leanne, Thanks! I usually attach the shoulder-plate by making holes with an awl - two front and two back and then attach using strong thread, like they used to do with porcelain, wax and papier mache heads long ago. I'll try and remember to take some specific photos when I attach this head to its body.
Spectacular progression pictures, Susie! I am so fascinated with your process and it just really is so interesting how your dolls' eyes just seem to be so alive! I look forward to the next step. Did I read somewhere that you are using oils on this face? I imagine that what you do in oils will also work with acrylics - just gives the face a different look and feel? Pam
