Homely Things

It took a few weeks before this new house felt like it belonged to me and I belonged to it, but with every little thing achieved, it starts to feel more and more like home…….and home means homely things like bread baked and crocheting by the fire in the evening. Flowers in a vase and herbs flourishing on the patio. And it's raining at last! How comforting is the sound it makes on the roof after so many months of no rain at all. Yes, this is home.

Done!

This doll is finished except for the little something that has made her look so apprehensive - that's still a secret! As you can see, she ended up with painted wispy baby hair, rather than a wig - it didn't look right. She's "borrowed" this cardigan from her older sister until she gets her own. Hat and shoes crocheted and her dress is stripy seersucker cotton with a little pink embroidery..

Felicity

Finally finished! Felicity is a vintage-inspired cloth doll. I made her a crocheted cotton apron and cap and her dress is made from green and tan checked cotton fabric. Her hair is made from hanks of mercerized cotton which were impregnated with glue and adhered to her head, then painted. She looks quite satisfied with her lot.
