Progress........

This new piece I've been working on is progressing........here are a few more pictures. I painted the face at night (always a bit fraught) so I will need to do a bit of patching up and repair work on the paint-job. Otherwise I'm happy with how it is turning out. Clothes next. The first image shows the cloth body with the sculpted parts added and under-painted dark brown. The middle picture shows the completed painting and the top image is a face close-up.

Hi Susie,
Always so fun to watch your progress. Her expression is quite sad, certainly tentative-- as you mentioned before. Wonderful coloring. Love the fabric!

I'm just starting to learn how to make a doll so seeing someone else's process is always fascinating to me. I hadn't thought of underpainting in a dark brown...I may have to try that and see what it looks like.
Your faces are so beautiful and so alive, I love them. Are they clay or fabric?
Have a great Sunday!

She's stunning just as she is! I love the gauze on her. She doesn't need clothes! Perfection.

She's stunning. I agree with Robin - - her body is too pretty for clothes! I'm trying to figure out how you did the hair...
