More Progress

This picture shows all the parts finished, but not yet needle-sculpted. The arms are not attached. I have started to glue on the cloth covering for the head. This needs to be done carefully and in stages, because it is easy to trap an air pocket underneath.

You have inspired me to do a doll after weeks of puddling around with cake icing! Felt the need to do something with fabric!. Finding it really interesting to see how you make your dolls Susie.I admire your ability to focus on perfecting your dolls. There is SO much that is interesting out there that it is easy to be distracted.Looking forward to your next post.

Thanks to all of you for the positive comments!
Judy - can you make dolls from cake icing? lol. I agree that there is so much of interest and it is sometimes difficult to stay focussed. I have been messing around making dolls for about 36 years now, so I find it hard to stop!

Susie ...you CAN make dolls from cake and icing!! I think that's why I am so hooked on this. My Blog has recent pics of witches that people made for our Royal Show and for the State Championships. I am busting to get straight to making dolls, but I have to learn to control and manipulate the icing first!!Patience....
