Hi Susie,

I want to do quarter life size pieces as a garden project-women who are gathering also done with mosaic-I got the idea from a magazine years ago and of course will do my own thing but they used chicken wire and steel rods. Did you put the steel in under the ferro?
I love the project your are undertaking-can't wait to see it completed.

Thanks! Healing Woman - I 'stitched' together many layers of wire mesh - I used small square mesh for these. Once you have enough layers the form is very rigid. The cement mix is forced into the wire form and once set, is very strong. I also added a plasticiser for added strength. If you are going to make tall, upright forms, you might want the added security of a welded steel structure inside - these didn't need it. Good luck!
