New Stuff
Here are a couple of things I've been working on: the little doll ("Essie") is just 11 1/2" (29 cms) tall. Her head and lower limbs have been sculpted in air-dry clay and covered with fabric before painting and she has a wrapped armature body. Hair is moulded and she has a cotton print dress and 100% wool felt jacket. I made her little boots from garment leather and crocheted her beret from mohair and a kind of multi-coloured boucle yarn together. I thnk she need a scarf and mittens.
No prizes for guessing which famous painting the bust is based on - this is for a challenge on one of the groups I belong to.
You can still enter my "20 000-blog-views-or-celebrate-the-new-year-or-whatever" giveaway if you like. I'm drawing the winner on 14th January. You'll need to go to the 6th January post and leave a comment - I'll be drawing the winner from all those who leave a comment.

Beautiful, both of them. I always love the way the clothing is so perfectly designed for the doll's character!
Wonderful, just when I think you couldn;t get any better you go and surprise me! :>)
Jenclair, you were quick off the mark! Thanks for the lovely comment.
Fantastic! The faces are so sweet and the clothing, perfect! I love seeing your creations.
Both are wonderful! The dolls is just gorgeous!
The bust is: Girl with pearl earring, at least it looks like her!
You got it on one, Ani!
WooHoo!! I've always liked that painting, she has such an usual look about her. When the movie came out by the same name I had to see it, wasn't bad but the book was better!
They are both truely wonderful:)
Oh Susie, she's magnificent!!!!! I absolutely adore every single thing about her from beret to boots. Where did you get the fabric for her dress? I have an antique dress with the exact color and print. So funny to see it on 'someone' else!
Take Care,
Robin
As always, superlative work, Susie :)

woah! I love both dolls. Of course!
I love the way you draw the doll first and then sculpt it. I have never done that but am inspired to try.
You are so talented. Your dolls take my breath away. Beautiful!
