A wonderful old artist's mannikin.
A well-kept secret - the rather fabulous train station in Los Angeles.
I was able to spend a few days with my dear friend, Georgia, in San Diego. Georgia was the wonderful angel who looked after me when I got desperately ill there in 2003........without her looking out for me, I don't know what would have happened.
Georgia is a wonderful dollmaker - she hides her light under a bushel a bit, but here is some of her work and a few other bits and pieces.

Susie, the pics are great. Your 2003 doll is so cute and I love your friend Georgia's work - does she have a website/blog?
I have a very similar wooden artist's mannequin that had belonged to my Dad in the 40s...I love it.
Thanks Susie for sharing your trip pictures with us. I do hope you will come back to the US soon. I would love to take a class from you.
Your trip looks like it was so much fun! Love the doll pictures, your friend is very talented!
Your doll is gorgeous, precious, fabulos...and what a treat to see it!
I love Georgia, got to know her through IOLCC but haven't seen her in a long time. She's wonderful. A treat to see some of her gorgeous work that I hadn't before!
Thanks, everyone!
Sue - Georgia does fantastic work - it has a slightly world weary, fin-de-siecle, faded carnival air about it, which I love. She doesn't have a website or blog, because she makes her dolls purely for her own pleasure - although she has shown them occasionally. Hey Robin - Georgia had surgery late last year and has been recovering. She said she does'nt go to many IOLCC meetings at the moment.
Cody - all being well, I'll be back next year in September.
